Remember it well. Our RAF Upper Heyford Chapel trip to the Holy Land was cancelled and we spent the next 4 months getting the turn key contingency hospital ready to recieve casualties. As it turned out, there were only a few admissions once Desert Storm began, thankfully.

I was at Ramstein shipping out materials to set up the forces who were going to push back against Iraq and Saddam. We were standing by for the NEO evacuation from Turkey
I remember the UK setting up several contingency hospitals; we had one at Ramstein too.
