Have those of you who deployed to the Middle East applied to be added to the Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry with the VA?

Thanks for the reminder SFC (Join to see). I need to get signed up on that registry before I retire.

You should be able to sign up at anytime. Social security number speaks words.

SP5 Bobby Thompson - True but I need to double check and make sure it's in my records now since it's easier to get stuff done while still active versus out of the service. This has been the advice from many of my retired friends.

Already signed up after my deployment to Iraq in 08. Thank you for reminding all though.
Too bad the VA is going to make us work for benefits relating to this. It is the modern day Agent Orange. :(

"Plan your work, then work your plan!" You deserve much better than anticipating a challenging process to receiving healthcare and support from the VBA!

Is there any value in doing so? Or is it just another list you'll be on?

They're tracking symptoms that develop over long periods of time. Beyond that, I don't know but I figure if it helps someone later, it was worth the few minutes of my time.

Though the system may be daunting and the processes laborious; one deserves much better support from the VA in regards to healthcare concerns. Especially, concerns borne from combat deployment and battlefield exposures. No one gets left behind inspite of an administrative burden.
