I found some pictures of Provincial Reconstruction Team Farah, Afghanistan and The Marine Special Forces compound right next door. Pictures were taken in early 2009. I was the Commander's Emergency Response Program project officer at that base.
Some of you have seen some of these pictures before but we did not get a good look at the MARSOF until today.
Admiral Mullen came to visit us and he helped get our connex box that was stuck for a month in Pakistan. After we spoke to him, the remainder of our equipment showed up 3 days later.
We had marine special forces, in lllinois National Guard Infantry, A combined United States navy and Active army leadership and our civil affair section Made up of the 426 Civil Affairs Battalion and other elements.

LTC (Join to see) - I have a simple question. Was Admiral Mullen a really tall man -- 6' 4" to 6' 6"? I met a guy named Mullen with Admiral Eric Olsen about ten years ago. I wanna say his first name was Mike, but I met a lot of Generals and Admirals that day and they all seem to run together in my mind.

LTC (Join to see) - I have prosopagnosia (face blind) from getting shot in the head in Viet Nam, so I can't identify people, including my family and myself, from looking or seeing pictures. So I read Admiral Mullen's Wikipedia entry. I don't think it could have been the same guy you mention. It was a DSC ceremony at Ft. Carson, CO for a guy from 3rd Special Forces Group. I know for a fact that the DSC was pinned on my Admiral Olsen, and it would not have happened that way if his superior was present, which Admiral Mullen was at that time. Now I'm going to go crazy trying to come up with the correct name.
