CPL JH! You are only authorized to wear your parent unit's only, we are not authorized to wear the CTJF-OIR patches as of now! Check your board at your TOC or wherever you are and you will see what you are authorized to wear. I know because we posted them up for all Soldiers to view! hope this helps!

I am no longer deployed, I've been home for about 3 weeks so I can't check the TOC. I haven't seen any orders for awards or anything yet. I've found the CSIB for CJTF-OIR on vanguard if that means anything to you, and I wear that combat patch on my OCPs as well. So I would wear the XVIII Airborne Corps CSIB on my ASUs then?

Well in that case, just wait for your orders as they will be handed out at the end of tour! I know some of you went home early and haven't received your awards yet, you will get it when we all come home! As for now, just wear the corps one until we get it all cleared! I know for sure 2BCT isn't allowing people to wear that, not sure who you were with but again, check their orders! Besides, you get the OIR overseas service ribbon with a star for 30 days or more spent down here!

CPL (Join to see) - Ask yourself this - How or why am I authorized to currently wear the CJTF-OIR SSI as your FWTS-SSI on your OCPs? That would normally be the same authorization for you to wear the CJTF-OIR CSIB.

What do your orders say? Dont put anything on till you have authorization. As a Junior NCO you should know this already.

Orders say operation enduring freedom; will perform duty in Iraq and Kuwait. OEF was for Afghanistan if I'm not mistaken. That's why I'm asking because it doesn't make sense to me.

When NCO's don't know the answer, they check their resources - including Rallypoint.

If your 11 series it would be just the normal CIB unless you have had subsuquent tours in combat environments thus would change the award. That sound more like orders sending and not orders awarding which would state the units involved are hereby authorized wear of .......... for duty while assigned to. .........etc.

Were you given a document that may have stated what operation and organization you fell under? I'd check for your end-of-tour award 638, deployment orders (hopefully in your iPerms at the very least), and finally CoC and S-1. There's probably a new ALARACT or MILPER message covering this since my ETS but S1Net website, G1 Army site, S-1, and/or CoC are all I got. I don't know any S-1 guys.

CPL (Join to see) - If you ask CoC or S-1, they're probably going to try to push you back to check your docs first. Many times if you don't get any extra docs, that likely means you wear your current unit's SSI as your combat patch only.
