As an AF medic during Vietnam, I am amazed how very well the surgeons and medical teams performed particularly via triage. Unfortunately, we were relieved when they arrived DOA. We lost over 58,000 soldiers. And BTW 60,000 women also served in Nam!
As a clinical psychologist and professor, I provide free consultation to combat vets back to Korea. Many show multiple "invisible wounds" such as TBI, PTSD, SUD and compacted grief.
And we know that 20 vets a day kill themselves and only 6 are seen by VAC. We also see a rise in active duty, and even non-combatants?

I conduct research on repeated combat trauma and publish these. Two of my primary references are "On Killing" and "Shooting Ghosts".
