I still do not understand why everyone focuses on the Russians....it is a small country compared to China. China also has a very focused intelligence program and have been active in cyber. Keep looking at the old threat, and you fail to see the new one that is passing you and not in the rear view mirror.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - You said the Chinese have never been caught. They have been caught stealing state secrets and information on US citizens. If you don't think they put out propaganda to effect our elections your are engaged in self deception. They even have agents of their government come here to buy off our leaders. I posted a story about Johnny Chung and the Clinton administration as a refresher for you.
Do not think for a minute the Chinese are not up to a load of shenanigans. They have been for decades.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - I guess you don't consider illegal campaign donations interference in elections then. That has been proven. No smoke, if you don't think the Chinese are working against us and trying influence elections you are more clueless than I even imagined.

The only way the Russian propaganda and social media ploys work is with an ignorant population in the US that does not follow real news (check more than one source), does not know it's history, its political system, it's government and understand the nature of our enemies.
If we are at war, who and where should we launch the invasion? When Russia was actually sending an army into the Crimea, Obama did nothing and Freeman was silent. Now with Obama gone he is a hawk, looking for a fight. While Obama and Clinton played with reset buttons Putin made ready for an actual invasion of Crimea and executed it. We did nothing, not even arms to the Ukrainians.
We know the Russians, Chinese and others hack systems, conduct cyber warfare, we do the same. They launch propaganda all of the time. The best antidote for propaganda is real information and education. Things woefully lacking in this country these days.
