William Shatner's weird or what? The Salvage rules of remaining parts from this plane sounds like the California clunker law will pay you $1,000 for your old car but no parts can be or salvaged and they crush the car and they put some kind of resin inside the engine block so that engine can't be used either.

Interesting, but nothing new, this kind of testing has been going on for years. What's surprising is use of a relatively new 777 aircraft. Guess that's an indictation of how much money Saudi Airlines has to throw away.

Cool! It's not like Boeing was going to donate one for testing. This stuff has been done for a long time and helps to determine areas that can withstand a detonation better than others so aircrew can move a suspect item to that area.
They used to issue us the data cards for each aircraft so if we happened to be on board we could do just that.
Man, do I wish I could be in on blowing up a brand new airplane!
