Hey RP, so I thought I understood finance but can a dual army couple with a child where one spouse is PCS’d to SK and I am here recveived DUAL BAH? An e6 told my husband that at humphreys and we are now just very confused.
We have a 6 month old and current I claim her for DEERS purpose. Than

Nope. Senior ranking parent gets BAH, Soldier in Korea gets Family Separation Pay.

CPL(P) Shelby Weaver - That would be correct. The Services only give you BAH if they don't provide you housing. Of course, if both of you are stationed at the same post and non available, you both pull BAH for your ranks with one getting with Dependent.

Rank into this exact scenario with one of my soldiers while at JBLM. You should receive bah with dependent status as you are maintaining a residence for your child. If your husband's command decides to let him maintain individual residence he qualifies for bah without dependents (flip flop that based on rank higher rank gets with lower rank without etc.) However if hes in government quarters and no in his own apartment he just gets family sep and bah will be deferred based on government quarters being provided. His bag will be solely up to his commands discretion is the long story short anyway.
