The Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese military thrived on committing atrocities. The BBC article conveniently leaves that part out. It's written by another pond scum journalism major with an obvious slant towards their political bias. Committing atrocities against Koreans will get you everything described in the article and more. As for rapists, kill 'em all and let God sort them out.

Read: For the Sake of all Living Things by John Del Veccio. Story of the atrocities you note. Really a good read for one who served back then.

MCPO Roger Collins - I haven't read the book, but I actually ran into a member of the Khmer Rouge in Siem Reap, Cambodia in 2003 -- still proudly wearing his Khmer Rouge rag. He shot me the dirtiest look -- but I just smiled back, knowing that I was traveling the world and living a great life, while he was scrounging through garbage cans for his next meal and hoping the war crimes tribunal didn't catch up with his sorry ass. Oh, and I hope he didn't like it.

The Korean soldiers could be brutal, even to their own troops.
