"Taiwan has recorded its first locally-transmitted case of coronavirus since April. The island has had one of the most successful pandemic responses in the world, and the new infection ends a 255-day run without local transmission, underscoring the difficulties in controlling the virus even in areas where it has been largely stamped out.
According to a statement released by the island's health ministry on Tuesday, a woman in her 30s was infected after having contact with a foreign pilot, who also tested positive for the virus, between December 8 and 12."

You are on the money. FEMA was told to start planning in late March. By that time our window of opportunity to fight the pandemic effectively was gone. Many Trumpers say shutting down some air travel was a robust action, but that is a gnat on an elephant’s ass. SFC (Join to see)

Here is a summarized case study. The government of Taiwan. It planned and executed programs to test everyone entering the country and started a robust contact tracing program. That is pretty much how they beat the pandemic. They also universally adopted mask wearing.

First off not once did I make a comparison between the US and Taiwan. Not once. I simply posted an article about how Taiwan managed to go 8 months without a locally transmitted case of the virus.
