That's the point, not homophobic bigotry, but the pure word of God. I have meet Franklin and can tell you there isn't a hateful bone in his body, but he will not compromise God's Word in the name of political correctness or anything else.

Sgt (Join to see) - you would have to show evidence that your gods actually exist before anything in the book would be taken seriously. We already know that the Bible is historically inaccurate, and we don't have any contemporary evidence for Jesus.

Capt Gregory Prickett - No I didn't you are painting with too broad a brush. We are not talking about all preachers, we are talking about Franklin Graham, a person who's character and integrity I happen to know.
Actually, modern archeology has been verifying over and over the historical accuracy of the Bible. As to the existence of Jesus, there are indeed records, historian Titus Flavius Josephus for one who lived from the early to late first century and wrote extensively about life then. including Jesus and His followers. There are also official Roman records that verify many events in the life of Jesus.

Actually, Archeologically speaking, the question is WHEN not IF Exodus occurred. Some say about 1300BCE, others 1500BCE. Egyptian texts, artifacts and archaeological sites, demonstrate that the Bible recounts accurate memories. Houses in Canaan dating to about 1200BCE and built in the Hebrew style of that period have been uncovered. They differed considerably from the Egyptian houses of that period and are considered an ethnic marker.
Of course anything that far back, even as far back to the time of Jesus is going to be fragmentary at best, but the evidence is there.

Seven cities scheduled, and six have already cancelled, with the seventh one considering it...

Good! Religions operate on the assumption that what they believe is true without having evidence to back it up. How arrogant that they believe that their god is the one to believe in out of thousands that have been created by man. And if that isnt enough, they want to use that to control other people's lives in the one life we do have. No thank you and prepare for my resistance.

1SG (Join to see) - conversely, are you believing these studies because that’s what YOU like to hear?

Sgt (Join to see) - As I matter of fact....no. I am a fan of the scientific method, reason, logic, philosophy, and skepticism.

Sgt (Join to see) - Well, there were two ways to read it, and I made an assumption that you were too smart to try the "no true Scotsman" fallacy. My apologies, I won't make that assumption in the future. You don't have to look at the lives of individual "Christian" families, the data was evaluated on the basis of religious vs non-religious. And neither you, nor anyone else, gets to label others as "faux Christians." If so, you can cut out most of the Protestant churches in America, as most have fallen to one heresy or another. You end up with only the church mentioned in Acts 11:26, where St. Paul started his missionary journey from.
As to your next comment, I do not "hate" god or religion, although I'm aware of the ills of religion and the danger to community posed by religion. I look for evidence, and thus far neither Christianity nor any other religion have provided any.
