Safety Resources and Support

We at RallyPoint prioritize the well-being and safety of our community. Our community is all about building connections for communal encouragement, but sometimes online peer support isn't the best option for support, especially if you or someone you know is really struggling. Sometimes it can be helpful to speak with someone anonymously. Although RallyPoint does not offer direct support services and is not equipped with medical staff capable of providing immediate or emergency support to those in need, we have compiled a list of services that other people have found useful that can offer you support.

For myself

If you are in immediate physical danger or need emergency care, please stop now and call 9-1-1.

If you're going through something difficult and the threat isn't immediate, we want you to know there are things you can do right now that may help you.

  1. Talk to someone at a helpline. Crisis helplines provide support to those in need. Contact the Veteran’s Crisis Line at 988 (Press 1), or chat online if you need support.
  2. Make an appointment with a doctor. Check out local VA resources here and consider making an appointment to talk with someone who can help.

For a friend

What should I do if someone on RallyPoint posts something about self-harm?

If someone you know is in immediate physical danger, please stop now and call 9-1-1.

If the threat of physical danger isn't immediate, use the resources below.
  1. Report the concerning post's author to us so we can reach out to this person with information that may be helpful to them.
  2. Talk to someone at a helpline. You can call a crisis helpline even if you are not in crisis yourself. A trained professional can help you figure out how to support your friends. Contact the Veteran’s Crisis Line at 988 (Press 1), or chat online. You can also encourage the person you're concerned about to use the helpline as well.
  3. Provide support to this person or contact a family member or friend who may be able to provide support.
