(CNN) -- Russia plans to send long-range bombers to patrol the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, the nation's defense minister said, amid escalating tensions with the West over Ukraine.

I am just enjoying the irony that this is becoming a topic of very good public discussions and yet lots of people are still calling for cuts and questioning the need for us to continue to develop aircraft and technology. To me this was a bright red flag validating the F-22 and the actions in Ukraine and Syria validate the need for the continued service of the A-10. but thats just my opinion
