My parents have an ill perspective on insurance in general. However, life insurance can also be used in conjunction with estate planning to alleviate tax burdens. A few famous founders of department stores have used life insurance policies to help them muster through the Great Depression.

My parents, originally from Vietnam, didnt have any form of insurance. Insurance in Vietnam was only available to large corporations. The common man does not own any insurance policy. They only buy auto insurance in thr US because its a requirement to drive legally. So their experience with insurance is very negative from their perspective.
