I have read about this for several years now. This has been going on for decades. You can actually zoom in on Google Earth and see the locations of these facilities. I have said for years that life is very cheap when you leave America. This part of the world has long been known to mistreat their people. The only way to change this for the better is to change the hearts and minds of everyone involved.

Anyone that ever went to Korea should have a real clear view of how things are done in Asia and I can tell you not cool I was there in 1988 it has changed a lot I hear but my fears are only where tourist go , I did water treatment and I can tell you with modern day equipment and test I could not filtrate 70% of any stream in that country

I have been to several ship breakers in both Bangladesh and India. This article is almost sugar coating the issue. I saw 3 bangladeshi’s get crushed in a single incident. We’ll just say, there is no such thing as OSHA in Asia.
Currently IMO is trying to rein in the breaker yards, by going after shipowners who use the breaker yards with unsafe conditions.
