We're developing a newsletter for civilians and veterans that cover veteran-related issues. I've toyed with the idea of calling it the SITREP, the PDB, the Captain's Call....but none are really hitting home. What are some other briefing names from your time in the military?

Mail Call of course. Or eMail Call if you can't stand the reference to letters. I'm old school.....

I love it, the challenge is that Mail Call is the History Channel show with R Lee Ermey. I have so much respect for the man and love the show, so I wouldn't want to infringe on the title.

R Lee stole it from the long term use of "Mail Call" which was how our troops received mail for most our wars. It's a common term used in various publications and web sites. So in a sense, it's perhaps too generic. eMail Call on the other hand....

I'd be nervous what civilians would initially think a "guardmount" is. Or, I'm just a pervert.
