The province of Alberta, Canada is just North of Montana. It has millions of barrels of oil it can ship each year the USA or the West Coast. Unfortunately, all the pipeline projects that they had plans were killed in the courts. Environmentalists have been able to stall and the judges were able to kill those projects. The province is losing $80 million dollars a day in potential royalties and the federal government of Canada isn't helping on the appeal of those pipeline lawsuits that were successful in stopping progress. The Premier or Governor of Alberta is thinking outside the box and She is a Socialist proposing to buy locomotives and ship the oil on the Railroad instead. She's giving the middle finger to the environmentalists because they can't stop the railroads. Just think, the railroads built Canada and the United States. The railroads are not the best option but, at this time seem like the only option available. Environmentalists want to stop pipeline expansions or construction but yet the chances for a spill on the railroad are much higher. I'm sure the railroad will purchase double-walled tank cars to mitigate any oil spills and train derailment. We buy oil from Venezuela and in the Middle East. We even buy oil from Russia but they don't have the environmental frenzy against them like they do here in North America. Canada produces probably less than 3% of the world's greenhouse gases yet they are pressured by their own homegrown environmentalism Green Party Fanatics to go to extremes and go green. We saw the results of this in the province of Ontario where going green & having a mismanaged electric grid cause the price of electricity to be three times the national average or three times what it would be in the USA.
