What a mess. And I don't think it's going to be any better. The Germans aren't used to putting a lot of money into their military, and they now have a LOT of immigrants taking up a lot more resources, so there's going to be even less money available for their military.

Given the history of German engineering, I find this surprising. After reading the article however it seems to have been expected. Still surprised the Germans were not able to overcome problems that had already been discovered by the U.S. in designing similar ships!

Well Steve, it might be entirely possible the the Lord is still not in favor of equipping the Germans with top notch military equipment. No one is quite sure if their tendency to follow a dictator over the cliff every 20 years or so has been bred out of their systems.. :-)
