Not everyone has been through this, but the 0100-0500 "curfew" is being temporarily suspended for 90 days to evaluate the possibility of lifted the curfew permanently. I wanted to get thoughts of anyone, but mostly former USFK personnel, on this topic.

Ouch, you were part of the old 2ID deployment from Korea. That's tough!

I honestly don't think that "likely" should be in that sentence.

MCPO (Join to see) - I should have said it was messed up by someone before the ink on the memo was dry.

Odds are 9 to 5 that Soldiers will ‘mess it up’.

That is why a curfew was instituted. We must protect our Soldiers from contributing MPC, is it still used? to the local, illicit economy.

Besides American Soldiers must be “pure” and not partake of “undesirable contact with foreign nationals”.

Undesirable by whom? Ah -so GI! The politicians in DC!’. SGT Philip Roncari

Concertina was not an effective deterrent!!

The human trafficking still exists, but not to the level of the olden days. It's isn't your daddy's Korea anymore is what I have said to Soldiers before. It is really cleaned up, however, Soldiers hear "curfew" and they want to act wild because they think you are holding them back in life.

CSM Carl Cunningham Not “my daddy’s Korea”. I was there in 1954/55.

Well then, thanks for what you did in Korea back then. It is honestly a wonderful, 1st world country right now. And that is all because of the Soldiers like you that were there in the beginning. Now I'm going to have to go back and look at your bio. :)

Being junior enlisted in South Korea, its a lot of trust put on the soldiers. And far lord work for NCOs. I honestly feel bad for the NCOs that have to deal with the minor amount of soldiers that will have to be babysat and picked up by CPP. Ultimately, I believe it will come back. Possibly sooner than the 90 day period. It was lifted and put back in place years ago when the army was different and “more mature”. It will certainly happen with my generation.

I hope you are not right PFC. It was lifted in the mid-2000's and was gone for a few years before some significant events brought it back. These adults got to get it together.

I hope I’m wrong also SGM. But I don’t have much faith after hearing some of the things my battles do.

Better warn them now of the implications....I don't think they understand the level of visibility this has right now. The 4 star is taking a big risk by releasing us to the wild..... :)
