My father made many a jump on Sicily Drop Zone. In fact one of my earliest memories was stand with my mother at the edge of the DZ to watch one of those jumps. As Jump Master, he was normally the last one out of the plane....but which one? As a young boy that kept me quiet for some time.

Saint Mere Eglise Drop Zone, Night HALO W/Combat Equipment, guaranteed tree landing. Spent many nights climbing down a reserve.

Agree, Saint Mere was a short drop zone with trees where they shouldn't be. Too early or late out the door and you had a problem. Another potential problem there was we had reserve pilots getting their flight time out of Pope. They didn't always line up just right. To some of them, close was good enough and god forbid a strong wind.

My family knows that I want my ashes spread in Downtown Charleston, SC and Sicily DZ. I have spent a lot of time in and around both locations.

SGM (R) Antonio Brown - I know. For most of that time if not all, you were in C 1/325th AIR. I was in HHC, B, and D Co during that time.
