I will soon be attending Fort Campbell after AIT and want to know if air Assault is a option or mandatory

you will have more than enough time to study..... while attending the course that is your place of duty... meaning your unit will generally leave you alone and you should focus 100% on the material being covered... and physically? I went through at 42 years old if you cant make it I suppose that's Darwin telling you something... get tough or die... do push ups!

Just not something I want to do tbh, I perfectly fine with remaining a spc till my contract is up, not really trying to make this a career

My brother just left there and is an instructor at your AIT. If you have him as an instructor you should ask him.
As I understand it's "optional" meaning your new PSG will tell you when you're going.

Air Assault is one of the easier schools in the army. If you’re fit and can pay attention to detail, and follow sequence you’ll be fine.
