I am looking for someone that has any information on the type of test I will have to take. I have been told it is the AFAST and have also been told it is the SIFT. Also if someone can point me in the right direction for which study guide to buy that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

Great question, your recruiter or education center should be able to assist, but in lieu of their guidance right now, it is the SIFT whose minimum score is 40 and maximum is 80 for accession. There are no other test that you have to take, but there is the often overlooked Class I flight physical and then the test of can you fill out a packet properly and IAW the recruiting guide displaying the attention to detail and accuracy that will be ultimately scrutinized by an aviation senior warrant officer. Hope this helps and the clothing and sales store has the SIFT study guide which was not an option back when I went through.

Yes this definitely helped a lot. Have you sat on a board for the Warrant Selection? Is it similar to the E7 and up board?

SGT (Join to see) it is a paper board just like selection for SNCO and all Officer promotion boards. Your packet is presented to the board and they grade your packet on a numerical scale.

I can't remember if it was at CW3 or CW4 but I heard you have to choose between an instructor or maintenance because there is a point where you stop flying. Is this considered a broadening assignment or a rumor lol.

SGT (Join to see) you do choose a track such as maintenance test pilot or an instructor pilot however this has nothing to do with not flying. Warrant officers fly throughout their career and while it may taper off a bit you can stay in the cockpit until you retire. Sorry for the delayed response. Somehow I missed your question
