I don't think $1 million is enough. That works out to be about $100 a day for false imprisonment. In a Georgia prison? Not nearly enough.
Also, they lost their VA benefits, military retirement, and more.

How about reinstatement of former rank? Award of retirement and associated benefits? Formal apology from the federal and state government? Extensive review of the legal process and procedures that resulted in violation of constitutional rights? Then the government would be off to a good start.
