Does anyone know any good VSO’s in Houston that you have worked with regarding claims? I’m a Marine veteran and served in Iraq and Afghan back in 08 and 09. I filed a few claims three years ago but only got 10%. My buddies keep telling me to go back but not looking to do it alone this time.

Thanks in advance for the help.

SPC(P) (Join to see) - Even though the VSOs are generally pretty good, I recommend you contact your local DAV Office and have them refer you to the National Service Officer (NSO) ... Many NSO's are co-located with the VA Admin claims area folks and they do an outstanding job... Here is some contact information for the DAV Department of Texas:
Department of Texas HQ, 1015 Lee Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901
phone: [login to see] - fax: [login to see] - [login to see]

I suggest that you contact them and tell them you want to meet with an NSO... Make sure you have all of your paperwork from prior claims, doctors, VA, etc. Good Luck!

From the comfort of your own home you can go on this site and put in to increase your percent. They will contact you and send you to a doctor who will reevaluate you. They will them review the doctors findings and give you an increase if they see that your condition has gotten worse.

SFC Michael D. - This is a great site and I have used it and filed copies of all my documentation on it... That said, one needs someone who knows the internal system to help weave a path through it... I had a fantastic National Service Officer (NSO) in Boston who handled two claims and did a masterful job! One must remember that the admin side of the VA is quite similar to an Insurance company and they will usually deny one's claim at first... Then comes the detail work with the documentation and DAV NSO interface... Very important!

I've never had a claim denied. Lucky I guess?

I've seen consistently good claims packets from the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC).
