Does anyone know if this is possible. I will be starting my UA apprenticeship in November while still in the army, but I would like to live off so I don't have all the single rowdy soldiers making a mess of the building and team leaders not doing their job. Plus I feel like I live in a prison. The rooms are nice, but I need some room to breath. Can anyone help me out, especially if you know the JBLM rules and regs that I could work round. Thanks!

I was wondering how this program worked. But I was looking to take someone in here to help me as a disabled veteran in trade for room and board. But I live far to far from colleges any college work would have to be done online. The Maj from Fort Snelling had told me of a place I wrote to them but heard nothing back. I would not want to live in a noisy area either. In trade for the persons help tho part of the deal would have been more permanent in nature if it worked out. I have already paid for building permits and would pay for materials if a person helped build the tiny cabin in back yard with wireless internet. I have tried to help others in the past it cost me being stolen from and used costing me a lot of money them staying here as a married couple and in the whole time they were here lucky if I got 3-5 hours work a week help. So I am trying to learn about some programs too. A program similar could help me as a disabled veteran getting help to be able to stay living here in the country and trying to help another veteran at the same time. so if anyone hears of anything like that please let me know too.

SGT (Join to see) Are you sure you can enter into a training program while still on active duty? Has something recently changed?

SFC Merino, there is a program called UAvip that allows transitioning servicemembers training for post service employment. It's offered through the Union association and the education center. The battalion commander signs off on it and you interview for it. There was 10 spots and I was offered one. There was so much unemployment for vets the army started doing more and this one of the things.
