Good Question, During the Cold War India Led the "Non-Aligned" Nations, which meant they bought Weapons Systems from All Sides, Russia, Chinese, British, Us but Officially Our Stance was if You Weren't with Us, "You Must be One of those Damn Commies" (Which was Stupid). So We Aligned with Pakistan, which was kind of Useful for the use of Pakistan Bases to Spy on Russia and to Attack Russia with Second Parties after they Occupied Afghanistan but Who Would You Trust More? Pakistan or India? Just a Thought. Also having been a Spook for 21 Years and Spying on Lots of Folks I've developed a Healthy Respect for the Indian Navy. They have mixed and matched weapons and sensors in unheard of combinations successfully. Whenever My Equipment displayed a Platform with Wild Combinations, I Knew it was Indian. In some senses they are the Ultimate Capitalist, When it comes to some of the things they do. When Iran couldn't get their Russian Sub to Work they Hired the Indians to fix their Kilo. I think a Healthy Working Relationship with India is an Excellent Idea.
