My Wife and I live in Canada. She wants to visit Montana and wonders if She needs me there to let her in the base to get her ID card updated . She is listed on my Army SGLI and emergency information. Will the USAF or any base have an issue with this? We live about 12 hours north of Malmstrom AFB, Montana.

Sir most bases are putting pass and ID stations art the front gate, so if she is in system they will do it right there and if needed to go into the base they should give her a pass to get to on base PSD (Personnel Support Det) what ever the Airforce calls it. I would do as the Capt stated and call a head.

Call ahead to the FSS or whatever you guys call it. As long as she has it and makes an appointment they can escorted her if need be. Should be able to do it at any base regardless of affiliation. We do retirees, army, navy, etc.

Thanks Marty, I am glad there is a workaround. I know she will be there the night before the appointment. I will have her call the base. FSS is what the USAF calls it?

LTC (Join to see) - Force Support Squadron. Used to be Military Personnel Flight, FSS sounds more bad ass. As a Guard base we always do people passing through. Calling ahead greases a lot of wheels and give you a name to drop when needed. Usually good people and take care of all.

Might want to check with the actual office. Soldiers often forget to update their status after divorce, so though she's on DEERS, she may still need you there to verify the information is correct. 3 years after my first divorce, I was still listed in my ex's DEERS as a spouse.
