SP5 Jim Curry - There is interesting back story to Enfield, Because India and Asia was such a growing and important market, They set up another factory in India. While the UK bike business cratered in a bad way,. The Indian factory never shut down. The singles evolved and some interesting bikes came out. They finally got serious about quality and the Electra 500 single was a good bike. Steel rod, decent brakes, good oil pump and same trans as the modern Triumphs with a 5 speed. They kept improving from there.
Now the focus is on twins. Well worth a look at what they are doing.

That is a bike I would loved to have had in my 20's. Look, sounds great and it seems to handle the twisty roads wdll.
