Trump demands that DC mayor have protesters arrested or he would have federal officials handle it.
Mayor Bowers then points out that the DC police are arresting protesters, and that the Trump appointed US Attorney is dismissing charges, 41 out of the 42 arrested in one case involving vandalism.
So let me get this straight. Trump's people cannot adequately prosecute criminal mischief and vandalism cases?

At this point the public unrest is the only card Trump has to play for the election. The reality on the ground is immaterial, this is politics. He's going to claim all Democrat led leadership can't deal with the unrest and therefor if Biden is elected he won't be able to deal with it either. There is nothing more to it than that, and it doesn't really matter if they actually are (or are not) handling it.

I completely agree. The civil unrest as he hopes will deflect from his poor performance and gives him a venue to act like he is the savior of the US. When he goes to Kenosha, I really doubt he will discuss reconciliation but will call BLM terrorists and he is the savior for this country. Society is crumbling but he is the glue.

Despite the appointments of so many carefully selected (rubber-stamped?) judges by the GOP in the past few years, some of those in power seem to forget that these folks actually went to law school and take to heart the oath they swore. The Laws of the country apply to everyone - as the Supreme Court so recently pointed out.
