If i get orders to a duty station while im reclassing and just so happen to pick up airborne school before heading out will that change my orders ?

Your orders should get deleted and you should be placed on assignment for an airborne unit.

SGT (Join to see) before I retired in 2013, Big Army made the decision to stop sending every Tom, Dick and Harry to Airborne School. The reason is that there were/are so many Soldiers that have been to the school and never get assigned an Airborne Unit. Now you have to get orders to an Airborne unit before they will send someone to Airborne School.

Not automatically. Maybe if your new MOS requires it, and only have units in certain duty stations. I picked up airborne in OSUT and per DS guidance, requested an airborne assignment. Jump school told me after graduation they didn't want to process the request for all of us who requested.
Maybe you could ask the branch manager of the new MOS if they'll have a slot for you somewhere.

so with me switching to infantry and say i get an airborne slot (100% chance im getting it) i wait until airborne school to call branch and ask for an airborne assignment?

SGT (Join to see) my understanding is yes, jump school will have to do the paperwork and branch has to approve it. I was already infantry and 82nd was deploying. Still got sent to 1st armored, who was coming home from deployment.
