Scouting career of a former USAF (Vietnam Veteran)

When you talk about everyday heroes who have a life long impact on you there are none better than Charles James Maney n Montgomery, Alabama. His scouts use to call him "Mr. Chuck". The facts in evidence are these two links of this great human being:

- http://wsj19deltamedteam.com/a-true-jamboree-veteran/

These two links tell you all who post here on RP need to know about a gentleman who left an indelible impact on my life. To such people you can NEVER thank them enough for the guidance, faith and belief in yourself he showed. In May 2020 he will be taking an Amtrak trip to Virginia to present my grandson, Jacob, his Eagle Scout badge (https://www.troop1028.org/our-eagles.html).

His character, his humanity and his humility are goals I have always aspired to emulate. He may not be a captain of industry, lead a great political movement, invent a cure to some deadly disease, or other acts of greatness such as they are in the musings of history applaud. But, it is these quiet heroes like my Scoutmaster, "Mr Chuck", and his antics in good fun and stories. What a character!

I hope my RP family appreciates the many messages that I hope resonate with some of you as you listen to the video. In this day of the "I" / "me" generation it seems we could use more Charles James "Mr. Chuck" Maneys in this world!

God bless to all!

Thank you, my friend CPO Nate S. for honoring Charles James "Mr. Chuck" Maney.
"Chuck was first in the US Army reserves. He then witched to become an Air Force Medic. He did a year in Vietnam. In the mid 1960s he was stationed at Maxwell AFB when he innocently asked his OIC (Officer In Charge) what he needed to do to earn points for promotion. Chuck was eager to serve. His OIC told him that he needed to get involved in the community and scouting would be a good way for him to engage. So he answered the call. But, he had no idea how special he would be to future scouts – like me."

LTC Stephen F. He was simply an amazing human being. He cared and that is RARE. To do what he did was selfless!!! I am happy to honor him!!! I have had the rare fortune to have people in my life that have impacted it when I needed that impact most!

That is also why I value the RP family, even though I strongly disagree with! We are all brothers and sisters in arms. Reminds me of a Seals and Croft song:

We in fact "...May may never pass this way again..." so for me it is being humble enough to recognize they many gifts I have been blessed with and the blessing of people that have shined their light on my path when it has been darkest and I may pass safely until i come into the full light. It is fairly simple to me. I often wonder why it is so complex for others.

Just saying......
