Is there another way to correct wrongly charged leave other than pay inquiry?

I had a similar issue a few years back. Basically do a memorandum for record, signed by the commander stating what you just stated and your good.
It helps if you support the statement with the daily PERSTAT that your orderly room sends up showing you did not in fact take the leave.

SPC (Join to see) - If you follow these steps you should not have to go to IG. But in the not entirely unlikely event that you have a booger-head or window licker working at finance then the IG will be the way to go after you have exhausted the route through your chain of command.

They were still trying to charge me leave over a year after a leave form was approved but leave was not taken. It was quite the fight. I wish you success in getting your issue sorted out.
