My biggest issue with the study was the statements on “ability to receive care during the lockdown” and lack of preventive care”. Those are probably not direct quotes. Anyway, hospitals and at least urgent cares have been open through the entire pandemic. Also, those in quarantine are still allowed, and encouraged, to seek medical care if it is needed. Now someone’s comfort level with doing so is an entirely different conversation.

The study is linked within the article. The most informed opinion is that one that not only read the article, but downloaded and read the study. The abstract alone, has quite a bit of summarized data, not to mention section 2 which details their empirical approach to data collection.
