O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave
This National Anthem Day, we salute all who have served our nation - in uniform and their caregivers - in the name of Old Glory.
My favorite version is from Jimi Hendrix, he was 101st Airborne and fiercely patriotic. He had a way of arranging the national anthem to reflect his thoughts on the world around him. His decision to play the national anthem at Woodstock was a last-minute addition and quite astray from his normal concert wrap-up of Voodoo Child. He felt the world needed some peace and unity and what better way than through music.
What's your favorite version of the national anthem?

I was in a VFW in Ohio when this was played on a radio. Some of the old WWII vets got so upset, one of them broke the radio. He yelled "We don't want no G-D N***** screwing up our National Anthem!"
I never went back.
Jimmy rocked!
