I tried to get in the Air Force in 1976 after the Army to become an Air Policeman but they told me I had too much active duty time so I went in the Navy.

I have been all around the world. Seems this page won't allow me to let you know where or when I've been. My last assignment was in the 41st Air rescue and recovery Sq. Then to Special Ops. then to the 55th weather recon sq. My first assignment was at Grissom AFB. In. B-58 Hustlers, KC- 135's, Was assigned outside the U.S, for ten years all over the place. Loved it and most of the duty. Ellsworth AFB, SD. was my worst assignment. 28th missile, and bomb wing. Crooks assigned there as I found. Got better people just before I left. Two tours in England at RAF Bentwaters / Woodbridge. I got to be a crew chief on A-10's, before then F-4 C', & D'. Spent nearly two years in Thailand at the only bomber wing. Did TDY's in Guam, Okinawa, Japan, Italy, and some places I can't tell you about. I loved being in the service most of the time, but all good things must come to an end. So after 22 years of duty, I had to move on. I burned out.

Ha! Mandatory retirement due to "High year of tenure" including one 3 year extension.
I guess they draw the line at having an almost 60yr old flying wounded troops out of the AOR. :-) (My full time job during those reserve years was a civilian police officer for 26 yrs. After I retired from that, then I could deploy as much as I wanted as medevac crew.) Cheers Top!
