Yepper. The white scarf with the black & gold OCS logo indicates they were senior candidates approaching graduation. Here I am after our Senior Status Review talking to Maj. Gen. William Livsey, the Ft. Benning CG and the husband of one of the women candidates. The second photo shows me serving as the narrator at the Senior Status Review.

Correct, Ken. The white scarf with the black & gold OCS logo indicates they were Senior Candidates nearing graduation. OCS during the Vietnam era was 26 weeks and included branch qualification. Each branch ran its own OCS program (Infantry at Benning, Armor at Knox, FA at Sill, ADA at Bliss, Engineer at Leonard Wood, etc.) When I went in 1978-79 it was called the Branch Immaterial Officer Candidate Course (BIOCC) and was 14 weeks at Ft. Benning, GA. After graduation you were sent to your branch's Officer Basic Course--same as ROTC and USMA grads. Here's a photo of me at our Senior Status Reception talking to Maj. Gen. William Livsey, the Benning CG, and the husband of one of our female candidates.
