This position provides general technical and engineering project management to standards and technical report development to advance automotive, aerospace, and other mobility industry sectors. Supports management of multiple subcommittees, working groups, and user forum projects. Business activities include but are not limited to marketing of standards & technical reports, qualification/certification programs, reference materials, and cooperative research. Supports implementation of company strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. Results include standards, best practices, technology roadmaps, and other products for safer, cleaner, and more efficient mobility developed through collaboration of the top mobility organizations in the world.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Product Development/ Project engineering tasks: Perform engineering project management for working groups and user forums, as assigned. Plans projects for standards, best practices, technical reports, and product development to accomplish goals and facilitate the integration of technical activities. Support the program strategic plan through alignment with deadlines, goals, and milestones.

· Meeting Support: Plans and executes the work programs of assigned subcommittees and working groups, including technical planning, meeting logistics, facilitation, and meeting report preparation. Execute straightforward tasks to support leadership committees as assigned.

· Industry Communications, Marketing & Outreach: Supports the planning of, and contributes to the technical sessions at Industry Conferences & Technical Meetings. Provide input to the program marketing plan and support workshops, speaking engagements and exhibits, as assigned. Also support and help to coordinate the development of marketing materials.

· New initiatives/ Special Projects: Recommend process improvements for assigned programs. Participate in user-experience research to identify obstacles, improve ease-of-use, customer satisfaction and inform future product and service development.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Engineering, Computer Science/IT, Manufacturing Technology, or applicable technical field
+5 years of engineering experience in automotive, commercial vehicle or aerospace industries.
+2 years of experience working with continuous improvement efforts.
+2 years of experience working with data-centric processes
+2 years of experience managing volunteer committees, or similar experience, preferred.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Strong project management skills
Strong interpersonal and communications skills along with excellent analytical, writing and editing and presentation skills.
Ability to organize effectively, carry out independent action, work on simultaneous assignments, and perform functions of a confidential manner.
Strong teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Global and cultural sensitivities
Understanding of trade association operations desired
Strong computer skills including MS Office and typical office application software.
Knowledge of software and database systems preferred.
Ability to travel 25%
May be required to lift 25lbs
