About

Student Veterans of America (SVA) represents 1,500 chapters and 750,000 student veterans from college campuses across the United States and in four countries.

SVA is a Veteran Success Organization, and works on behalf of student veterans at the local, state, and national level, holds training and educational events, awards scholarships, awards funds for veteran centers and grants for chapters, and more. SVA is the expert in higher education policy, and advises and educates others related to higher education and veterans. SVA provides tools and resources for informed decision making, and to enhance and accelerate higher education success, including with partners and collaborators in business and industry, higher education, government, and other non-profit and veteran organizations.

Founded in January of 2008, SVA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization focuses on transitioning service members and veterans to get to, through, and beyond higher education.

Fund Scholarships
SVA has awarded over $1 million to SVA Scholars since 2011. Thanks to corporate sponsors, SVA is supporting new scholars every semester. View open scholarships.

SVA is a guardian and steward of the Forever GI Bill. SVA's Government Affairs team advises lawmakers and advocates in eight issue areas such as student debt and STEM fields.

Plan the SVA Annual National Conference
SVA’s National Conference is the largest annual gathering of student veterans, advocates, thought-leaders, stakeholders, and supporters in higher education in the world. Student veterans, higher education professionals, alumni, and advocates will have the opportunity to learn from more than 2,000 of their peers in Los Angeles on January 3-5, 2020. Learn more.
