Job Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a liaison to management and staff on Human Resources related issues with a focus on employee relations, training, and career development. The position acts in the best interests of our organization by aligning service delivery with strategic goals, associate needs, and HR best practices. Responsibilities include coaching, counseling, systems training, facilitation of technical training, leadership development, and familiarity with our online learning management system.

Individuals in this role must rely on sound problem-solving skills, be resourceful and provide sound judgement and recommendations. It is essential that the HR Business Partner provide exceptional customer service to our strategic partners while creating an outstanding experience for associates.

The Business Partner thrives on providing hands-on strategic coaching and training to staff each day by bringing new ideas and resolving challenges consistent with our Mission, Vision and Purpose.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains productive and collaborative relationships with leadership and associates, in order, to facilitate effective service to Swisher team members. Partner with leadership to objectively manage employee investigations and while being consistent with Swisher’s policies and best practices.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers on proper coaching and progressive counseling process, including, drafting documentation, assuring consistency, recommending appropriate course of action, and modeling proper techniques.
Identifies training needs with the strategic partners, as well as individual coaching and development plans.
Develop policies and procedures for the company through collaboration with interdisciplinary functional areas throughout the organization.
Assist with the annual performance appraisal process and respond to questions regarding both crafting constructive feedback in the review as well as the technical component in our learning management system.
Conducts exit interviews as needed and identify turnover trends. Participates in developing strategies for improvements based on feedback from leadership.
Assists managers with understanding and applying company policies.
Become knowledgeable in all areas of HR, to respond to basic associate questions related to leave administration, benefits, talent acquisition, workers compensation.

Job Requirements:

Ability to rely on critical thinking skills and sound judgment with a high degree of creativity.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good understanding of employment practices and laws (ADA, EEOC, FMLA, FLSA, etc..).
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with discretion and professionalism.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, empathize and reason with people in situations that are often sensitive and stressful.
Team player with an ability to successfully partner with various HR team members on projects.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Human Resources, Education required or relevant experience.
High level of comfort speaking and conducting training to large audiences.
History and proven track record of experience in employee relations.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS programs
PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
Ability to travel overnight as needed.
Physical Requirements

Ability to work long hours at a computer
Must be able to travel and lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to navigate between buildings
