About the RoleThe Global Head of Sales at Uber Freight (UF) will report to the Vice President and Head of Uber Freight. This leader will serve as a critical member of the UF leadership team in strategizing, driving and building the most efficient and scalable business in the transportation industry. This role will lead a team of approximately 300 people, who are passionate about selling into both Fortune 500 companies all the way to small and medium sized businesses (SMB). This team is composed of Pre-sales, Sales, Pricing and Account Management professionals who are segmented into SMB, Mid-Market and Enterprise accounts.
What You'll Do
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Freight Leadership team in driving the acceleration of new business growth and the future of UF
Develop and implement premier sales operations processes with clear KPIs, metrics and processes that result in an effective, efficient and results-driven sales organization focused on Fortune 500 companies as well as SMB
Partner effectively with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to drive lead generation efforts as well as the UF Business Development team
Perform and use quantitative data analysis, deep impactful insights, modeling, and analysis to support the team's success
Work closely in a matrixed environment with local operations, marketing, strategy, analytics, design, engineering, finance and other senior leadership in the region and at headquarters to set clear targets for regional strategy
Design and architect the post-merge portfolio of UF and Transplace
Basic Qualifications
12+ years hands-on management of global sales teams in a dynamic, evolving environment
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in selling into an industry with thin margins and volatile costs
Proven track record of growing a customer base and consistently exceeding revenue targets and company goals in an emerging business environment
Experience in leading a team of 150+ people with extensive knowledge of selling into multiple customer personas as required by a double/triple sided marketplace (logistics industry is a plus)
Validated sales leader in the industry with partner awards from LG, Target, P&G, AB InBev and/or others would be a plus
Seasoned strategic and operational leader with experience running a P&L is a plus
Experience working closely and communicating effectively with internal and external partners including product and engineering teams in a constantly evolving, rapid growth environment
Expertise developed while working in both startups and large publicly traded companies, and in highly matrixed organizations
Track record of using performance marketing and top of funnel while partnering with the CMO to work on top of funnel efforts
