We got our money's worth out of that one, didn't we. Can you imagine how long we'd have to fly F-35s before we could say the same thing?

Betting the F35 will never last anywhere near that long and will be slipped away in favor of something twice as costly.

It is sad that at one time we had 4,000 of these planes in 1994 and now we have so few left since most were shot down as drones. I wonder how many are still flying today in the USA? We know Iran has old F4 they rebuilt and they still have a few flying F-14 tomcat A models still in service.

I think I heard that there were/are only 2 flyable, and 1 is civilian the other a group is trying to save from the military before it gets cut up.
