Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on July 6, 1976 United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland admitted women for the first time in its history with the induction of 81 female midshipmen.
FYI as a prior service USMA Military Cadet I was already at West Point on this day with several women prior service cadets. We had been bussed up from USMAPS as the vanguard for the USMA class of 1980. I expect that the Naval Academy Preparatory School also had a similar contingent.
