GO THROUGH THE DAV PEOPLE!!! We have service officers specifically trained to assist with comp & disability pension benefits. For the record, your disability can be reviewed every 3 years FYI

I didn't realize you had to wait three years. I am a new retiree with an 80% rating and I've been told I should be at 100% As a new guy am I eligible to ask for a review now or do I have to wait the three years?

When did you retire? Who told you about the 100%? There are certain criteria, since you are disabled, message me, we can talk privately. I can direct you further

LTC Joseph Gross - I would contact your representative for the VA and have them review your file - and go to have them check your claim!!
Maybe a call to your Congressional rep or Senator may help! ( my "problem" was cleared up in days! )

PO2 Robert M. - honestly, the VA is so overwhelmed, I've found it better to have an outside agency look into it. This is what the DAV does.

I'd talk with other vets in your geographic area. In Pennsylvania we have a strong representation by county veterans offices that are part of the County government. That said, it really all depends upon the individuals you are working with. For me, the County office did a good job, but they had a personnel change and the new people are not as attentive. Ended up switching to DAV (who I've heard good things about in many areas) and they seem to have a strong program. Your fellow vets would have experience and could probably make a good recommendation

I was not happy at all with my VFW rep. They were super flaky and hard to get ahold of. My experience might not be representative of the organization as a whole, but it definitely left me with a sour taste and I don't think I would use them again.

I did better on my own. I did use "Veterans Benefit Network" and "Had it..." for advise and information.
