Journeyman Field Technician

Wolter Inc, a leader in the material handling industry, is seeking skilled Field Service Technicians to service our customers! Based out of our St. Louis, MO location, Field Service Technicians are responsible for traveling to our customers' locations in the greater St. Louis Metropolitan area and repairing their material handling equipment, such as forklift trucks, aerial equipment, floor cleaning equipment, etc. This can be gas, diesel, LP Gas, or electrically powered.

Incentive: We are currently offering a $1,000 signing bonus for qualified Field Technicians!

Position responsibilities:

Complete all service jobs that are assigned to you.
Communicate with the Road Lead Technician on any unusual service problems encountered or for any technical assistance needed.
Attend service training classes offered to maintain knowledge on new products, or for refreshers on products not encountered too often.
Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked on (time cards, maintenance reports with customers’ signature).
Communicate with dispatcher and/or service office as to status of jobs and availability for new jobs.
Identify jobs that should be sent to our shop for repair (due to complexity or safety reasons) and recommend they be sent in.
Develop and maintain relationship with territory sales representatives to keep them informed of sales opportunities you might see.
Always adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.

A qualified candidate will have mechanical experience, preferably on forklifts, construction equipment or farm equipment. Requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical problems. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull and carry up to 100 lbs. Must have your own tools, good customer service skills and be dependable. Trade school or secondary education a huge plus.
