How to get Honor Graduate or Leadership position at basic training?

Would A good range score, and knowledge help. Im already a good shot since ive been shooting since ive been little and RSP has already taught me most of what we are gonna be taught in BCT.
only thing im not the best in is PT, I can pass but im excelling in it.

If you go in with the attitude that you already know most of what you will be taught in BCT, you are in for a rude awakening. You want to excel, bust your ass.

While having that goal is commendable, I would recommend that your personal thoughts on your marksmanship should be shelved a little bit. Chances are they will teach you a whole different way than what you were brought up. More often than naught, those that came in with civilian honed shooting skills most had habits that hindered them on the qual range in Basic. Not saying that is always the case, but just the norm that I've seen first hand. Don't go in there thinking you can outshoot everyone and that you won't learn anything new. You'll end up having a bad day.

about his shooting skills. He had a few other awards he said they didn’t matter.. He had a chance to

What told and carried on and moved forward. Our MTI made him a Squad leader after he fired the 4th one for not looking out for his
Squad good enough .. A1C-to-Be
Upon completion since wanted to stay and they let him.. did look out
For not his squad but e’one else too! Our MTI let our Flight-leader
(Aka Dorm Chief ) that if he didn’t
Do like Recruit Ski, He May end up as a new permanent road guard...
And he could almost bank on that..
Our flight finished with 52 like we started.. There wasn’t a slider nor slacker in the Flight. In the last 3 days somewhere, We had a meeting.. Our MTI said he wasn’t announcing a “Honor Graduate”
because felt to him We were all Honor Graduates.. Everybody had
Improved so much and he said do we know why that was? Because
We asked the right questions and paid attention and did as we were told.. We all were one Top team..
That was a big uplift.. There were 6 of us that had the ROTC and the Re-tread.. Nobody gloated.. We used what we learned in ROTC and folded it in to what we learned in BMT .. and helped our fellow Airmen to be better.. and we all graduated with top scores at 25th day evaluations.. We had 5 that had a low score of 87. All the rest was above that.. Our MTI said he was satisfied the Retread decided to stay and finish with the rest of us. That Flight-Leader straightened up and did a better job
He said after he definitely didn’t want to be a permanent road guard(we know that road guards do rotate frequently... ) I had read that out of 52, 14 went on to make a career of the AF and another 8

Reserve and Guard .. That’s pretty good .. I didn’t get into statistics beyond that..

PFC (Join to see) To start, adjust your attitude, and be willing to learn and excel doing things the way the Army teaches it. Work on your PT. Forget about getting Honor Graduate, and concentrate on putting forth your best effort at every task. Quitting is not an option. When you can, help your fellow recruits. Enjoy your new challenges and adventures.
