Long story short, I submitted a volunteer recruiting packet which was accepted by USAREC back at the beginning of June and have not heard anything since. A situation involving my Wife and the passing of her mother came up which now affects me going to recruiting. I contacted my branch manager in regards to my assignment option per the ASK-Enlisted Marketplace and a situation regarding my wife's application for legal guardianship of her niece who my late Mother-in-law had custody of and requested to go to Fort Campbell to help facilitate the process. Well, I am now 5 months from my DEROS and still have not gotten an answer from her. I understand COVID-19 is delaying everything and I should probably wait, but who should I contact to help me? Do I need to contact USAREC to tell them about the situation and pull back my acceptance? Should I contact the Branch civilian supervisor or SGM to help with my situation if my manager isn't responding to my emails?

Any help would be appreciated? SFC (Join to see) SFC James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4"

You have to contact USAREC. Because you are a volunteer for recruiting, your application went straight to Recruiting branch and your branch manager has no part in it except to release you, so they can’t say what the status of your application is.

Whenever you encounter a situation where the branch manager isn’t responding, CC the Branch SGM in your future emails. In this case you’re just emailing the wrong branch, but they should have responded to you at least.

Branch is really back logged because they are on telework. They have been working on adjusting personnel orders who were directly affected by COVID-19 and they answer their emails in the order they are receive (they receive hundreds of emails a day). I’m not trying to make an excuse for them, I’m just aware of what’s going on with them because I have to communicate with HRC Nominatives and they have told me about the back log of emails they have.SSG (Join to see)

Andrew, if I may, indeed, address you by your first name: I pray; that you find an answer to your question. SSG (Join to see)

Get a hold of USAREC...ask what the stays is of your packet submission. Explain your situation. Your Branch at this point may have released you already. If you submitted your vol packet in June, he will hete something soon. But I would start with USAREC admin offices.
