U.S. Navy Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Yaisa Coburn was standing at the entrance of Naval Air Station Corpus Christi when she was shot.
On the morning of May 21, a man identified as 20-year-old Adam Alsahli had opened fire in what federal officials called an act of terrorism. Authorities said he acted alone.
Coburn, who was shot in the abdomen, was protected by her vest and acted quickly in response to gunfire from the man.
She deployed the final denial barrier and engaged the shooter, U.S. Navy officials said. Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Levi Milligan moved from the guard shack and also engaged the shooter.
Stuart Levitt, an officer with the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi Police Department, also responded to the scene and exchanged gunfire with the shooter. He secured the scene and found what appeared to be an improvised explosive device in the passenger seat of the shooter's car, officials said.

Congratulations to her, although that's a bad headline. I had to read it several times. The headline makes it sound as if she was in fact arrested for terrorist Acts. But with that aside, congratulations to her for doing her job and stepping up. Many of us know what that's about. Somewhere just never put in the situation but I have no doubt would have done the same thing.
