They serve with us also as we are right there with Marines in the Field and Humanitarian and Disaster Recovery Operations in the suck with us, and they love it. Invasion Iraq OIF 2003 we went in with Marines doing combat bridging mission, and MSR's, had our chaps with us in Combat conditions and under fire. The same Chaps left us, and went on to serve with III MEF Japan. I loved that guy, and he was just like us without a weapon, and the dangerous position he placed himself in. One of the Battalion's just let their Chaps earn Seabee Combat Warfare Pin, just waived the weapons portion for him. They still made him do a SMEAC, and even planned a Det mission pack out, and COMMS plan, plus land NAV.. The mission they gave him was a Disaster Recovery Operation so it was not Combat. Much Respect to these Chaps.. RP's some are OK and well some shouldn't serve with us. We had a young RP that just finished A-School came to us after he went to ECS (Expeditionary Combat Skills) and he knew we were going to Afghanistan, well he didn't make it a month before he got sent back and Phych Evaluation out.
