Can I be chaptered out of the army for refusing to get vaccinations? I'm waiting on a religious exemption to not be vaccinated but i'm being told if I don't get them today that i'll just be chaptered out of the army because with or without this exemption i'm non deployable. I'm going through the legal channels but fear being imprisoned over this.

The vaccinations are part of the herd immunity concept; if everyone is vaccinated, then the disease has little chance of getting a foothold. That is what some of the anti-vaccination lobby are relying on; that others get the vaccinations and they do not. By the way, you came into basic training getting these, or you would not be in. What exactly is the issue? If you were so adamant about NOT getting these, your paperwork would have already been up with the chain of command. This sounds suspicious.

Disclaimer: Not an expert, but probably.
_Having been to the places I've been, and
_Having seen the ravages of diseases I've seen, and
_Knowing that those diseases are largely eradicated in developed nations
_Knowing that those developed nations have comprehensive vaccination programs
I think that risk versus reward justifies a mandatory vaccination policy.
I suspect the powers that be will opt for an administrative discharge rather than a punitive discharge.

Prison unlikely, separation all but imminent. Religious accommodation does not cover health and safety. Thank you for your service.
