Great Britain, Russia, and the U.S. agreed to a Germany First posture for our bellicose intentions. After Pearl Harbor and many invasions of Asian lands, the U.S. sent it's Pacific Fleet to defend the Lines Of Communication with Australia. The Army bought in the Germany First plan and refused send many reinforcements to Asia, however, Admiral King and Nimitz refused the role of mere defenders. They went on the attack to include targets of opportunity as the Japanese were out maneuvered and incapable of fully resupplying occupied islands. They accomplished this with a degraded Pacific Fleet.

I wonder how many hundreds of thousands of Japanese Marines and Soldiers had souls left when the war was lost to them, considering how evil they were.

General MacArthur was a brilliant man and a hell of a commander. He was rough around the edges at time but his men loved him and would follow him anywhere. I know he didn't want to leave his men in the Philippines when they took him to Australia during the war. He kept his word to his men and the Philippino's and returned to them during the war and defeated the Japanese. The way he lead his men in the Korean War great if the president and him wouldn't have had a disagreement the war might have been won and not ended the way it did.
